When to use a 301 redirect or a 302 redirect

If you didn’t know before this post, now you do know to absolutely use a redirect from the old one to a new working one.

If you are not sure you’ll ever use that URL again, then you use a 302 with says the redirect is a temporary change.

If you KNOW you will never use that URL again, you will use a 301 redirect, which says it is a permanent change to the search engines.
